Peter Jackson Player of the Week
Ben Newton (Player Of The Week)A very good game again from Newts, he basically worked all day in the midfield without assistance from our other mids. He continually put his head over the ball and won plenty of clearances as well as getting a good quality amount of uncontested football. He is leading the way for us on-ball.

Karl AmonGood game and was our third best player this week. Karl really gave us some run and carry with the ball and won some really good contested footy. Nice composure and made good decisions when under pressure from the opposition.
Mitch Harvey
Mitch did a great job for us in the ruck over four quarters. Jumped in hard at centre bounce and competed aggressively at all other stoppages. Very competitive as a forward and was able to have a couple of shots on goal.
Steven Summerton
Lower possession game this week, but he was really damaging when he had the ball. Continued his good form and was able to outnumber the opposition at times with his smart running.
Angus Bruggemann
Played a solid game down back against Webb and kept him fairly quiet. Helped out in the ruck as well as pushing forward and providing us with a target to kick to. Needs to be at his best against Sturt this week.
Ben Haren
Benny just could not get into the game this week, due to not having the right match-up and us having to put him into three or four other positions on across the game. We will look to settle him down over the next few weeks.
Zac Hawkins
Was OK over the course of the game and used the ball well, but needs to get involved a bit more in our defensive actions. We think he will be a very good player for us going forward and just needs experiences like this at this level to make him better.
Tom Clurey
A solid performance again from Tom, who looked to win his own ball from defensive 50 and take the game on. Unfortunately he did not use the footy as we would have liked and this is an area he needs to keep focusing on going forward.
Lewis Stevenson
Had the matchup on Still early until he was injured. Lewis needs to be more aggressive in the air and on the ground and continues to work on kicking the ball well and making good decisions.
John Butcher
Looked a little off early in the match, but he did work his way into the game. Needs to go back and slot through those easy misses and reward those who have worked hard to get the ball to him. Leadership amongst the playing group has been outstanding.
Anthony Biemans
Beamer just found it a bit difficult to get into the game this week. Playing up forward and helping out down back, he was not as aggressive in his attack on the ball and his timing to press quickly for us was a bit off.
Cam O’Shea
Was a solid game for Cam after starting up around the ball early in the game, but was then forced to go back and plug some holes for us. He was quite good defensively controlling his opponent and also rebounded at the right times. He just needs to finish his work when in possession.
Ben Sawford
Like Zac he was OK over the course of the game, but was a little unwell during the match so this may have restricted or impacted the way he played slightly. The experience and game time will fast-track his development as he has been rewarded for good Academy form.
Sam Russell
A quiet game for Sam, he needs to be more aggressive against his opponent and not allow him easy access to the ball. He is a very coachable player and is taking some time to adjust to the level, especially after missing 14 weeks of footy across the first part of the year.
Jake Neade
Good game by Jake, he ran hard up and down the ground and like Summo gets to plenty of contests for us. Used the ball well and won some possessions in and around stoppages. Needs to just be patient and keep being consistent and his time will come in terms of AFL selection.
Darcy Byrne-Jones
Started quite well and gave us real drive off halfback. Like Sam Russell he plays his best footy when he is aggressive in the air and on the ground against his direct opponent. Needs to bring this every week he plays with us.
Brendon Ah Chee
Started in the middle and was going OK until we played him out on the wing against Beech. Did a good job but unfortunately it took away his big body inside at stoppages. Arch has turned the corner and he has really been consistent over the last few games. He just needs to keep this up.
Robbie Young
I was very happy with Robbie’s game, very good in and around our forward 50 and worked really hard to get up the ground and give us some good run and carry as well as put great pressure on the opposition's ball movement.
Mason Shaw
Mason was very consistent for us again. He provided us a target out of defence and competed for us in the air and on the ground inside our forward 50. Scored three goals, but some unselfish play that resulted in turnovers cost him possibly the opportunity to impact further on the scoreboard.
Nathan Krakouer
Started OK but he quickly went out of the game and is picking and choosing when to apply pressure to the opposition. He must recover his good early form and his ability to make better decisions in defence once we lose the footy. We know what he can do once in possession with his elite ball use and this was evident at times against West where he did use the ball well on our rebound.
Danny Butcher
A real solid performance from Danny. He worked hard around the midfield and at every opportunity he gave a real genuine contest. I thought he kicked the ball well and won some crucial balls from stoppage that kept us in the game. We did not have enough players who played with his intensity over four quarters.
