APEX STEEL SUPPLIES has been awarded the third joint major partnership for Port Adelaide’s SANFL League team for the 2014 season.

The Green Fields business won the club’s Joint Major Partnership Draw on Saturday afternoon at the club’s Alberton Oval trial game double-header.

Apex Steel is an Australian-owned and innovative nationwide organisation which offers a wide range of steel products and services.

Selling direct to the trade and the public, Apex Steel is building a reputation as a market leader in the manufacture and distribution of steel building products.

Apex Steel joins fellow major partners EnergyAustralia and Main North Renault as joint major partners on the club’s famous black and white SANFL League guernsey, and will have its branding appear beneath the number panel.

As a result of winning the club’s Joint Major Partnership Draw, Apex Steel beat 70 other private and business entrants to win the coveted prize.

Second and third prizes were won by Welland-based Albert Sand and Metal, and Georgiou Financial Services respectively.

Port Adelaide’s chief executive Keith Thomas congratulated Apex Steel Supplies on being named the Magpies’ third joint major partner for 2014.

“It’s an honour to have your brand on our famous jumper and Apex Steel have been rewarded for their commitment to the club this year,” said Mr Thomas.

“I know John Konstandopoulos and his team his team down at Green Fields are thrilled with the news and are looking forward to seeing our best young AFL and SANFL-listed talent running around with the Apex Steel name on their backs!”

Apex Steel managing director John Konstandopoulos was thrilled to learn his support of Port Adelaide would be taken to the next level.

“I have been a long-time supporter and sponsor of the Port Adelaide Football Club and was over the moon when I heard I had won,” he said.

"I am very proud to have my name on the back of the Magpies guernsey this year.”

Mr Thomas also thanked all business contributions for getting behind the Magpies in 2014.

All draw participants will have their contribution to the club acknowledged on portadelaidefc.com.au.

“The sponsorship draw was a successful concept that Port Adelaide used in our eighties and nineties heyday and we brought it back to find our new joint major partner this year,” Mr Thomas explained.

“It’s been very positively received by all our partner participants and within the club itself, so I’m sure we’ll look at continuing it next year.

“I want to thank all of those businesses who did participate in this year’s draw - your contribution to Port Adelaide will allow us to develop our grassroots football programs this year and into the future as we embark on exciting new chapter for the Magpies in the SANFL.”
