Selection: Five inclusions for Cats
Five players have been brought into Port Adelaide's side to play Geelong this Saturday.
Sam Colquhoun, Campbell Heath, Tom Logan and Matt Thomas come into the side, replacing several injured and omitted players. John Butcher is the late replacement for Matt Lobbe.
It will be Colquhoun's second game for the year after making his debut against Richmond two rounds ago.
Match Preview: Round 9
Heath slots straight into the backline after being omitted against Carlton last weekend, while Tom Logan and Matt Thomas will play their first matches of the 2013 season after several weeks of high-level performances in the SANFL.
They replace Dom Cassisi (hamstring), Lewis Stevenson and Paul Stewart (omitted) and the rested Jake Neade.
Senior coach Ken Hinkley says Colquhoun, Heath and Logan will offer much in terms of their defensive capability.
"Tommy Logan has been in great form in the SANFL and he deserves his chance in the side," Hinkley told portadelaidefc.com.au
"Sam Colquhoun was unlucky to be out of the side; we had Dom Cassisi come back in, and now Dom's out again so it's a bit of 'like-for-like' there.
"Campbell Heath was in great form for the Eagles in the SANFL last week and he comes straight back in."
Thomas is likely to play more forward and through the midfield against the Cats.
"Thommo's worked as one of the hardest in the SANFL and deserves an opportunity," said Hinkley.
"Now he needs to come and replicate that form by playing a role for the team."
Although Jake Neade will be rested as part of his management as a first-year player and Cassisi has suffered a hamstring strain, Stewart and Stevenson will be sent back to the SANFL to try and find form.
"We subbed Paul Steawrt at half time last week and we feel there's a need for him to get back into some really good touch himself, and Lewis Stevenson the same," said Hinkley.
"We just feel they need to get some confidence back."
