In the mix: Several vie for places
Several players are vying for a place in Port Adelaide's team to play the Gold Coast on Saturday night.
Despite three wins on the trot for the Power, changes are certain for this weekend's match.
Kane Mitchell's reassignment to the rookie list will require at least one inclusion on Thursday night.
Whether the coaching panel elects to go with another midfielder remains to be seen.
In hot form are senior players Dom Cassisi and Robbie Gray.
portadelaidefc.com.au reported yesterday the duo's most recent performances in the SANFL were highly rated by the football development coaches.
Stuart Cochrane described a "vintage" performance for Gray where he bagged three goals up forward, while Cassisi was "ruthless" in defence and through the middle.
Both are be genuine candidates for selection, while rugged defender Tom Logan and hard midfielder Matt Thomas have also been in solid form at SANFL level.
Senior coach Ken Hinkley revealed up to 11 players could be considered at the selection table.
"We know we've got players in the SANFL in really good form," said Hinkley.
"Robbie and Dom are certainly the ones that everyone are (sic) talking about.
"Matt Thomas... Tommy Logan, Cam Hitchcock ... Moorey (Andrew Moore), Youngy (Aaron Young), there's plenty (of players) we can talk about."
Hinkley also confirmed Paul Stewart would be monitored at Wednesday's training session after he was subbed off with a corked knee against the Crows last Sunday.
In Suns territory, captain Gary Ablett has been listed as available to play despite being unable to clench his injured hand into a fist as late as yesterday.
Charlie Dixon is also under an injury cloud after suffering an Achillies injury against the Lions and will be tested prior to team selection on Thursday, while Dion Prestia and Tom Murphy are set to return from injury for the home side this weekend.
portadelaidefc.com.au will announce the Power's Round 4 team at 6:00pm on Thursday night.
