ALIPATE Carlile is expected to return for Port Adelaide this weekend after being sidelined with a hamstring complaint last week.

Carlile missed the Opening Round of the 2013 season after failing to recover prior to selection.

But he was named as available for selection subject to a fitness assesment this week, and the fit full back should slide back into Port Adelaide's team at the selection table on Thursday.

That would mean one defender from the team that last week defeated Melbourne by 79 points would be squeezed out of the side.

But there could be further changes afoot if selectors deem the form of several SANFL players worthy of promotion.

Matt Thomas had 30 touches for Norwood last week and veteran Dom Cassisi was very effective for West Adelaide.

Young Sam Colquhoun who impressed in the NAB Cup was also named the Power football development team's Player of the Week.

The Giants will have some of their young players available with Jono O'Rourke cleared of a hamstring injury this week.

Will Hoskin-Elliot has also recovered from a cork that saw him substituted from the Giants' Round 1 game against Sydney.

Team Selection brought to you by Renault will be live on portadelaidefc.com.au tonight.
