HAMISH Hartlett has accepted a two-match ban for rough conduct.

Hartlett - who was in doubt with a shoulder injury - will miss the Power's two remaining home-and-away matches against Fremantle at Subiaco and Carlton at AAMI Stadium.

The ban from the Match Review Panel originally stood at three matches, but with the early guilty plea the suspension was reduced by 25 per cent to two matches. The MRP deemed the incident as negligent, high contact and high impact, which drew 325 demerit points and a three-match ban.

General Manager - Football Peter Rohde said the club had weighed up the decision to challenge Hartlett's ban.

"We considered challenging the ban, but the risk of Hamish missing three weeks instead of two was too great," Rohde said.

"We believe his intention was to lay a fair shepherd, but he'll have to cop the suspension on the chin and move on."

Hartlett is the fourth Port Adelaide player to be suspended in the past seven weeks, with Justin Westhoff (one match), Kane Cornes (one match) and Tom Jonas (three matches) all feeling the wrath of the MRP.

With Cameron Hitchcock unlikely to be fit to play following a hamstring injury, the Power will now have to make two forced changes for Saturday's clash with Fremantle.
