New ambassador joins up on Drive to 40,000
Port Adelaide ambassador Jane Reilly is encouraging all Port Adelaide supporters to become members in 2013.
FIVEaa breakfast presenter Jane Reilly is a lifelong Port Adelaide girl and jumped at the chance to become an official ambassador.
“I’m so excited,” Jane said of her renewed involvement at Alberton.
“People don’t know this, but I’ve always barracked for Port Adelaide. When I was a kid, my grandma lived at Semaphore, my dad grew up at Semaphore and the whole family barracked for Port Adelaide.
“Often, we used to go down to Alberton Oval with dad and I used to go with my girlfriend Christine.
“I have had a bit of a hiatus from Aussie Rules because as a mum both my boys - I have to confess - had no interest in AFL. They both played rugby union, one of them state level and the other one played for the Air Force. My late husband was a rugby union person, too.
“When it’s three against one, you go with the tide. Now, I’ve only got one son at home I can kind of do what I like, so ‘Go the Power!’.”
Jane signed up as a 2013 member before she was invited to become an ambassador by Port Adelaide chief executive officer Keith Thomas.
Like all members, Jane has a chance to score a brand new Renault Megane if the club reaches its 2013 membership target of 40,000 – a feat never achieved by Port Adelaide.
Under the Drive to 40,000 – Powered by Renault campaign, adult members present at Port Adelaide’s Round 14 clash with Collingwood at AAMI Stadium will be in the running for the amazing prize, valued at $25,790. But only if we reach 40,000 members.
If you haven’t signed up, make sure you do. Membership starts at just $75, with a three-home game access option available for only $100.
Not only could you win a new car, but you will be helping your club make a statement to the football world while also contributing to Port Adelaide’s on-field and off-field renewal.
If you’ve already joined the club, help us to recruit more members and make sure you and everyone else has the chance to win.
