PORT ADELAIDE forward Connor Rozee is the Round 5 winner of the 2020 Coates Hire AFL Goal of the Year.
Rozee polled 41.8% of the vote for his classy snap during the third quarter of Saturday night’s game against Brisbane.
The 20-year-old showed clean hands to rove the ball off the pack after it came in long.
He assessed the options before wheeling around past an opponent and snapping a right foot 40-metre effort around the body.
Richmond’s Kane Lambert received 33.5% of the popular vote while Gold Coast’s Ben King got 24.8%.
Rozee will now be in contention for the end of season Coates Hire Goal of the Year.
At the conclusion of the home and away season, the AFL Game Analysis Committee will select the best three goals from a selection of 22 (the 17 weekly winners, along with 5 other contenders as determined by AFL Media). The best three will be based on a 5/4/3/2/1 vote given by each member of the selection committee.
The winning AFL player of the 2020 Coates Hire Goal of the Year will be announced at the 2020 Brownlow Medal.
