Xavier Duursma tackles Miles Bergman at training on Wednesday. Both will be hoping to hear their names called come selection tomorrow night.

PORT ADELAIDE wingman Xavier Duursma is pushing for an AFL recall against Carlton this week, having recovered from a hamstring strain suffered earlier this season.

Duursma has not played since suffering the injury in the Round 3 win over Fremantle on the Gold Coast.

He has trained strongly since last week and will need to prove he is ready to go in the club’s main training session on Friday to be in line for a return.

Port Adelaide will be forced into at least two changes this week with the suspension of Brad Ebert and the injury suffered by Cam Sutcliffe in the win over Greater Western Sydney.

Experienced midfielder Tom Rockliff will be eager to return after being omitted for the Giants’ game along with Riley Bonner who also missed selection.

Midfielder Sam Mayes, defender Jarrod Lienert and ruckman Pete Ladhams have all been pushing hard at training and in practice games to break into the side along with youngsters Miles Bergman and Mitch Georgiades.

Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name a 26-man squad to tackle the Blues at the Gabba on Sunday.

The squad will be trimmed to 22 on Friday afternoon.
