The debut
A member of the Power’s inaugural squad, Tredrea made his AFL debut against Essendon in round 2, 1997. He played just that one game in Port Adelaide’s debut AFL season and didn’t reappear until 1998.

The injury
Tredrea experienced the best and worst of what footy has to offer against Carlton at Princes Park in May 1998. The 19-year-old showcased his enormous talent, kicking 8.4 from 22 disposals and 17 marks before dislocating his right knee. It would be just the first of many knee injuries that threatened to cut short the power forward’s promising career.

The All-Australian
The lifelong Port Adelaide supporter established himself as the dominant centre half-forward in the competition between 2001-2005, earning All-Australian selection in four of the five years and winning three best and fairest awards.

The flag
In 2004, Tredrea became the first-ever premiership captain of the Power when he held the cup aloft in the absence of injured skipper Matthew Primus.

The renaissance
The seven-time club leading goalkicker played one of the best games of his illustrious career against Richmond in round 8, 2009. Tredrea booted seven goals, including the final major of the game, to put the Power in front with less than a minute to play. He then stormed down into defence and took a saving mark to secure an unlikely win for the Power.

The phone call
Tredrea also earned a reputation for his goal celebrations, which included the infamous phone gesture after bagging his sixth goal against North Melbourne in 2005 and a bow to the crowd during the preliminary final, also against North Melbourne, which the Power won to advance to their second grand final.
