Supporting Sid at Victor Harbor
Port Adelaide is helping one of its most loyal Victor Harbor-based supporters this weekend.
Sid James is a well known and much loved identity around the Fleurieu Peninsula for his amazing outlook on life, despite being confined to a wheelchair following a fall from a bicycle in 1993.
Despite his setback, Sid has continued to organise the Victor Harbor Triathlon for the past 19 years.
Sid’s efforts have made the event a highlight of the local sporting calendar, with 1250 people taking part in 2011.
He has been acknowledged with many awards for his efforts in raising the profile of the sport over two decades.
But now Sid needs your help as the Victor Harbor community rallies to help him raise money for a new wheelchair-accessible vehicle to replace his current transport which is well past its use-by date.
With the Power taking on Fremantle at Encounter Bay Oval from 3.40pm this Saturday 10 March, Sid and his supporters will be raising money at the gates to help this fantastic cause.
Sid is a passionate and long-time Port Adelaide supporter, with his wheelchair - covered in club stickers - a common sight around Victor Harbor.
So please, donate what you can when you see Sid’s fund-raisers rattling the can at Encounter Bay Oval on Saturday.
