Shaun Burgoyne is free to play against Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday after being found not guilty of engaging in rough conduct by the AFL tribunal.Shaun and Port Adelaide presented their case via video link-up in Adelaide on Tuesday evening.They were challenging the AFL match review panel’s decision to report Burgoyne for engaging in rough conduct against Lenny Hayes during the second quarter of Friday night’s win over St Kilda.Shaun faced a three-game ban if the tribunal agreed with the match review panel’s findings.Channel 10 reported that the Power put forward that there was no substantial contact to the head and neck and showed two different camera angles to prove this.It was reported that Shaun spoke “exceptionally well” when putting forward his case.A smiling Burgoyne spoke to the media after the hearing.“I was very happy with the process and the outcome at the end,” Burgoyne said.“My reputation stays intact, I pride myself on my reputation, and I’m really happy I can play this week with the boys and hopefully we can have a win this week and make history by beating Melbourne at the MCG for the first time.”
