PORT Adelaide coach Matthew Primus says he's unfazed by chief executive Keith Thomas' failure to guarantee his future at the club, claiming he's simply focused on the 2012 season.

Thomas told reporters on Thursday that Primus' contract would be reviewed at season's end, but that such an action would simply be procedure.

"I don't really care if I've got a 10-year contract or a one-year contract," Primus said.

"I'm just worried about focusing on this year and how good we can be as a footy club and whatever happens with that (contract talks) will play out towards the end of the year.

"If we tick the boxes this year and do as we've set out to do then everything else will take care of itself."

Thomas said the introduction of Josh Carr, Tyson Edwards, Shaun Rehn and Brad Gotch meant the coaching team would be judged as a whole and that so far the signs were promising.

"I'm viewing the whole coaching discussion more as the ability of the collective group to work well together with Matthew to perform better," Thomas said.

"Right now I've been really impressed with how that's developing and we hope that will continue to develop as the year goes through."
