ONE of Hugh Jackman’s most embarrassing life moments occurred in a Port Adelaide changeroom - according to the Hollywood star.
…it’s not as bad as it sounds.
The home-grown actor reminisced about the moment recently with Nova 91.9’s Lewis and Lowe.
It was 2006, and Jackman had been invited to Showdown XXI to cheer on his team - the mighty Power.
The boys were down by nine points at half time, and the mood was intense.
“They were losing…they said, 'will you have a word to the boys, just to ‘jee’ them up?'” Jackman recalled.
“So we walk into their dressing room, they’re coming in, and Chad [Cornes] and a few of the leaders were really ripping into them.
“They said, ‘come on, it’s a Showdown – and Hugh Jackman’s here! And I want Hugh to say a few words to everyone!’
“And I said, 'guys…go get ‘em…good luck…I think you’re great, go kick some goals!'
“...there were crickets.”
Jackman maintains he was mortified by the awful speech.
“…it was one of the most embarrassing things in my life!” he said.
But it can’t have been that bad – the Power ended up turning the game around and taking the win by 14 points!
