PORT ADELAIDE is pleased to confirm the re-signing of five players with Tom Jonas, Brett Ebert, Tom Logan, Daniel Stewart and Cameron Hitchcock committing to the Power.

Jonas, Port Adelaide’s 2012 Coaches’ Award winner, has inked a two year contract and will be elevated to the club’s senior list for 2013.

Ebert, Logan, Stewart and Hitchcock have all signed one-year deals.

Jonas has previously been elevated to the senior list partway through each of his two seasons at the Power.

General manager - football, Peter Rohde, described Jonas’s re-signing and promotion as a ‘great story’ and a reward for a strong performance in the second half of 2012.

“Tom is a great clubman and really dedicated person who has improved every year he’s been with us,” said Rohde.

“With a couple of defenders going off our list he’ll get more opportunities in the next couple of seasons - he’s earned the right to start the year on the senior list.”

Ebert, Logan, Stewart and Hitchcock will continue to play important roles for the Power having recovered from injury-hampered seasons.

Rohde says the flexibility they provide to the team will be invaluable to a Power side looking towards bigger things under senior coach Ken Hinkley in 2013.

“Brett [Ebert] certainly had a good finish to the season, has been a good player for us over a long time and we look forward to him being part of the group next year,” said Rohde.

“Daniel Stewart had a good start to the year but ended up getting hip and shoulder problems. We see him as a flexible player who can play ruck and forward and hopefully he can get himself fit and going again for next season.

“Tommy Logan has been a bit restricted this last year by a couple of knocks and leg injuries. He played a lot of games and is a highly respected member of the playing group and is very selfless.

“Cam Hitchcock showed lots of promise early in his career but has been interrupted by injuries. With a good pre-season we hope he’ll have a clear run at re-establishing his spot in the team.

“We’re pleased to have them all on for another year.”

The deals add to the club’s retention Travis Boak, Dom Cassisi, Robbie Gray, Hamish Hartlett, Matthew Broadbent, Paul Stewart, Jarrad Redden, Aaron Young, Cam O’Shea and Jasper Pittard, who all signed new deals this year.
