PORT Adelaide has made six changes - five forced and one unforced - to its final 22 to face Geelong on Sunday.

Key forward John Butcher, key defender Alipate Carlile, ruckman Matthew Lobbe, midfielders David Rodan and Aaron Young, and rookie defender Tom Jonas return to the side to cover a number of injuries sustained against the Bulldogs.

Nathan Blee - who is yet to make his AFL debut - will travel with the team as the emergency, with his local side North Adelaide having the bye.

Port Adelaide general manager football Peter Rohde said Carlile had reached key conditioning benchmarks and had overcome calf soreness that prevented him training on Tuesday.

“We had a bit of an issue early in the week with some calf tightness but he trained no worries today so he’s fine.” Rohde told PortAdelaideFC.com.au

“He’s a ready-made replacement as a tall back to cover Jackson.”

With the leadership group all out injured, senior coach Matt Primus says the responsibility of captain will be shared by the more experienced players in the side.
