THE Port Adelaide Football Club is considering its position after restricted free agents Danyle Pearce and Troy Chaplin were targeted on the opening day of the Gillette AFL Trade Period.
The Power was informed by the AFL that Fremantle has offered a contract to midfielder Pearce, while Richmond has declared its intent to secure full back Chaplin.
Both players are restricted free agents and under the rules Port Adelaide has three days to consider its position and decide whether to match either offer.
26-year-old Pearce has played 154 games for Port Adelaide after debuting in Round 18 of the 2005 AFL season.
Chaplin, also 26, has played 140 games for Port Adelaide. His debut came in Round 2 of 2005.
Port Adelaide does not intend to comment on either Pearce or Chaplin until it has resolved its positions in respect to each player.
