To our valued Members and Supporters,

Firstly, can I thank you for your ongoing commitment to our great Club. You are the heart and soul of Port Adelaide and you always will be, as we build on our proud 141-year history.

This Sunday - as the Magpies and Power share the stage in a fantastic double-header at AAMI Stadium - we need you to make a stand for our Club and show the world what it means to you. Be there and be counted.

The future of the Port Adelaide Football Club has been cemented this week with two very important announcements:

  • The AFL committing to our long-term future in the AFL
  • The PAFC, SANFL and AFL agreeing to talks that will provide financial security as we approach the move to Adelaide Oval

These initiatives will build on the outstanding work our organisation has done in helping itself, led by Chief Executive Officer Mark Haysman, his management team and staff.

It has been a challenging week for us all, but at the Port Adelaide Football Club we are ALL up to a challenge.  We always have been and we always will be. WE ARE PORT ADELAIDE.

We now enter negotiations with the SANFL and AFL which need to run their course over the coming couple of weeks. But I have no doubt they will deliver an outcome that will secure our future for many years to come.  However, they will take a little more time to work through and we need your patience and ongoing support.

As has been shown throughout our history, challenges galvanize our club. This week’s events have only made us stronger. Our membership continues to grow and this week it passed 36,150. We have also seen people commit financially to the club through our Back In Black debt reduction initiative.

It’s more evidence of how much you love our Club.

But Sunday is your opportunity to prove it to everyone else by BEING THERE with us at AAMI Stadium, as the Power takes on Carlton from 4.10pm after the Magpies meet traditional rivals Sturt from 12.45pm.

Don’t miss a fantastic opportunity to share in this massive day for the Port Adelaide Football Club, with both of our teams sharing the stage and on show to the country.

Please, turn up and tell the world we are Port Adelaide, we are proud and we are here to stay.

Yours truly,

Brett Duncanson
