THE South Australian Football Commission has today ratified two new appointments to the Port Adelaide Football Club’s Board of Directors.
The new Directors are Mr Nick House and Ms Jane Jeffreys. Ms Jeffreys is the first woman to become a director of the Port Adelaide Football Club in its 140 year history.
Current board members Mick O’Connor and Alex Panas have also been returned to the board, with the support of the club’s members and the SANFL Commission.
The two new appointments have been made at the request of the Port Adelaide Football Club and take the board back to 10 persons.
Port Adelaide President Brett Duncanson says Mr House and Ms Jeffreys bring skills to the board which have been specifically targeted by the club.
Mr Duncanson says the appointments follow an extensive three-month process conducted for the club by Hender Consulting, which included a skills analysis of the current board and interviews with a large number of potential board members.
“Nick House brings a great deal of business experience, but also very importantly for us a focus on community issues and involvement,” Mr Duncanson said.
“Jane Jeffreys brings considerable expertise with organisational structure and governance matters, human resources, and in the entertainment and tourism sector.
“The skill sets that both Nick and Jane bring will really complement the current board and provide great value as we develop our community engagement in South Australia and our push into the Northern Territory.”
