PORT Adelaide could welcome back captain Dom Cassisi and vice-captain Travis Boak for Balfours Shodown XXXIII.

The pair will face fitness tests later in the week to determine if they’ll play against Adelaide in our home game on Saturday night.

Boak has missed the past three games following foot surgery to repair his plantar fascia, but completed a running session at Alberton this morning, giving hope he’ll front against the Crows.

Cassisi completed extra training sessions over the weekend to help with the rehabilitation of a hip flexor injury and is rated as a 50/50 chance to play.

Experienced defender Jacob Surjan was a late withdrawal against the Cats in Round 14 with a hip complaint.

Senior coach Matthew Primus said Surjan was close to playing on Sunday, indicating he’s likely to be right in time for the battle with our cross-town rivals.

Jackson Trengove’s rehabilitation is going well and he’s now a chance of playing against Essendon at home in Round 16.

Trengove was listed as 3-4 weeks last week but that has been reduced to 1-2 weeks as his finger heals well from surgery.

Meanwhile, Port Adelaide’s SANFL side could be boosted next week with the possible return of both Mitch Banner and Steven Salopek from knee injuries.
