YOUNG Port Adelaide attacker Cameron Hitchcock has been placed back on the Power's injury list after leaving last week's SANFL match between Glenelg and Central District with a hamstring scare.

Hitchcock injured his hamstring against Richmond in Round 6 and left the ground early in Saturday's state league game for Glenelg after experiencing concerns with his hamstring and elected not to return to the field.

Port Adelaide's head fitness trainer Cam Falloon says that the injury experienced during the game is different to those previous.

"He has a low grade muscular tendonitis hamstring strain that's at the complete opposite end of his hamstring to his original one, which was just above below his knee - this one is near the glutes," said Cam Falloon

"The good news is that his original hamstring rehab went well - but he's still got a hamstring injury which he'll need to recover from.

"Normally he'd miss two games but given his recent history he'll probably miss three and return in four."

Hitchcock returned from the Power's long term injury list early in the 2012 season after injuring his shoulder during the pre-season and requiring surgery.
