THANK you all for the amazing support you have given me throughout my career, and for all the kind messages since I announced my retirement.

Pay Tribute to Chad Now

From the moment I arrived at Alberton Oval, I was welcomed with open arms. Even as a Cornes and the son of Graham, a man not loved by the Port Adelaide crowd.

Through the Lens: Photos from across Chad's career

I can still remember that first training session, running around the Oval and being cheered by the Port supporters. They welcomed me as one of their own, and they have been that way ever since.

Chad By the Numbers

It is people like you who made it easy to fall in love with the Port Adelaide Football Club. You were behind me every day and every step of the way through 14 unbelievable years.

Bring on the Boos

And it is the supporters who I want to thank first and foremost because you have given me the belief and the strength to play as I have.

PTV: Chad Tribute

We have celebrated together and shared the pain together. You have made the highs higher and just as importantly, made the lows easier to bear.

PTV: Chad Says Goodbye

You have helped me through the tough times of injury and when my game hasn’t been what I wanted. And this year - as I’ve faced my share of frustration - you’ve been there for me again. Your support has kept me going. It’s been simply outstanding.

But the time is right for me to go. I would love to play forever, but I can’t. No-one can. I have been blessed to have the career I’ve had and I wouldn’t change a moment of it.

I’ve been lucky enough to be part of a great era at Port Adelaide. And now it is time for others to build towards the next era. The Club is doing that and I know it will get there.

I hope you can all join me at AAMI Stadium for one last time this Saturday night, as the boys take on Collingwood. I have always loved a challenge, and to go out against the competition’s best in front of my home crowd is about as good as I can imagine it.

It will be great to see you in the crowd.

It has been an honour to represent you and our Club. I can’t thank you enough.

Cheers,

Chad
