Exciting forward Nick Salter has been promoted from the club’s rookie list and is one of three new faces looking for his AFL debut on Sunday against St Kilda

The Power’s 25-man squad named on Thursday afternoon also includes the untried Mitch Farmer and Ryan Williams.

Williams is the only player from the Power’s bumper 2006 NAB AFL Draft still to make his AFL debut but has had a much improved second season at AFL level this year, making himself a key part of Central District’s midfield.

Farmer, in his first season at the Power after being the club’s last pick at the 2007 NAB AFL Draft, is a tough defender with plenty of attitude which Sturt have been major beneficiaries of this year.

Salter kicked eight goals for Eagles’ reserves side on the weekend and won the club’s SANFL player of the week award for his performance. His long kick is one of the highlights of his game.

Salter, who is in his first season on the club’s rookie list, is able to be promoted to the senior list due to the retired Hugh Minson being on the long-term injured list.

The Power has lost three star players from last week’s loss to Fremantle. Warren Tredrea (shoulder) and Steven Salopek (Achilles) are out for the season, while Troy Chaplin will miss at least one week with an ankle injury.

Also looking for a spot in the team are Adam Thomson, Damon White and Paul Stewart. All six inclusions are named on the extended interchange bench.

The Power’s squad of 25 to face the Saints, as named at 4.30pm on Thursday, is as follows…

B: Michael Pettigrew, Alipate Carlile, Nick Lower
HB:Jacob Surjan, Toby Thurstans, Nathan Lonie
