James debuted for Port Adelaide in round 5, 1997, at Football Park against the Brisbane Lions after representing Norwood in the SANFL, where he tasted Premiership success in 1997. Seven years later, James was a member of the Power’s 2004 Premiership winning side, before he retired in 2005.
