DANIEL Stewart has been selected in the Port Adelaide side to host Richmond at AAMI Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with a host of other in-form SANFL players named in the squad of 25.

Stewart did not play against Adelaide in last week’s showdown but returns as a logical replacement for the injured Jay Schulz.

Named for just his 28th game this weekend, Stewart joins fellow talls Justin Westhoff and John Butcher in a shorter Power attack.

Assistant coach Shaun Rehn told PortAdelaideFC.com.au that the coaching panel was looking to reduce the height of its forward line andthat Jay Schulz’s omission provided an opportunity for Stewart to re-enter the team.

"Jay Schulz is out for the week and we really wanted to go smaller last week,” he said.

“We felt the balance of the team was a bit 'tall' and so without Schulz in, Daniel Stewart is an automatic replacement."

Named on the extended interchange is Danyle Pearce, Darren Pfeiffer, Aaron Young and an in-form SANFL contingent of Brett Ebert, Tom Logan, Simon Phillips and Cam Hitchcock - one of whom is likely to shape as the replacement for Chad Wingard.

"The form of all blokes on the pine (extended interchange) is very good,” said Rehn.

“Brett Ebert had a very good game on the weekend, Cameron Hitchcock kicked four, Simon Phillips has been very good for the last three or four weeks and we know what we're going to get from Tommy Logan - he's been solid for Glenelg the last few weeks."
