IN-FORM onballer Dom Cassisi says Port Adelaide’s best footy is goodenough to beat any team in the competition.

For the first time this season, Port Adelaide maintained its intensitythroughout the entire match on Saturday, and the result was impressive - a91-point victory over reigning premiers West Coast.

“It was probably the first time this year that we’ve been able to stringfour quarters together,” Cassisi told portadelaidefc.com.auafter the game.

“We were really happy with our first half and came in at half time andwanted to keep that going.

“At three-quarter time we reassessed again and just wanted to finish offthe last quarter really well.”

The Power did just that, lodging a five-goal last term that lifted theteam into fourth on the AFL ladder with a healthy percentage.

The undermanned Eagles were no match for the switched on Power as PortAdelaide cruised to its 10th win over the Eagles from 12 starts.

“We’ve shown a few times this year that our best is good enough,”Cassisi said.

“If we come to play, put the team first, care for each other and have areally good crack at it we can mix it with the best teams.”

Cassisi has enjoyed a purple patch since being relieved of his taggingduties against Essendon in round 12.

The 24-year-old midfielder had a club-high 38 possessions and two goalslast week and backed up the performance with another 30 against the Eagles.

“Kane [Cornes] has done a few good jobs so I’ve been allowed to run freea bit more without as many heavy tagging roles.

“It’s been enjoyable, but I’m happy to play any role as long as we’rewinning,” he said.

“I’d rather a win than have heaps of possessions, but it was just one ofthose days when the footy keeps coming your way.”

The Power have a good chance to consolidate a place in the eight withgames against Richmond, Melbourne and Carlton in the upcoming month, clubswhich all occupy places close to the bottom of the ladder.

But for the team that finished 12th last season, the Power aren’t lookingfurther than next week.

“We haven’t really spoken too much about finals yet. We know we’ve gotto win at least 12 games to qualify and the next two or three weeks will bevitally important,” Cassisi said.

“We have to win next week against Richmondto keep on a roll or it will be really disappointing after such a good wintoday.”

Coach Mark Williams has upheld the club’s promise to develop its younglist, but says if the Power makes the eight, winning the flag will be the solepriority.

“If we get in the top eight we’ll be having a crack at getting in the GrandFinal, there’s no doubt about it.

“If you get in the top eight anything is possible, absolutely anything,”he said.

“If you can get your players to play the best they can on that day youcan beat anyone, and we’re certainly a team that can do that.”
