With Port Adelaide’s opening game of the NAB Cup barely three weeks away, NOW is a great time to sign up as a member for 2012 if you’re yet to do so.

Membership has topped 22,000, but we’ve got a long way to go to reach our goals and we want to get as many people as possible on board and behind the club.

It’s a very exciting build-up to the new season, with the players hard at work preparing under Matthew Primus and the strengthened coaching panel.

New names like Brad Ebert, John McCarthy and Chad Wingard have joined the team on the track, with Hawthorn recruit Brent Renouf poised to begin full scale training after undergoing rehabilitation on a pre-existing knee complaint.

With most players who needed surgery getting their operations out of the way late in the 2011 season, the coaches have had a significantly larger training squad to work with throughout the current pre-season. In turn, that has given a large number of players the best opportunity to build fitness for 2012.

Port Adelaide chief executive officer Keith Thomas said this week’s announcement of V.I.P. Home Services becoming the Power’s NEW Joint Major Partner was another sign of the positivity now surrounding the club as it prepares for its 16th season in the AFL.

“There is a lot of work to do and we have a lot to prove, but we believe there is also a lot for our supporters to be encouraged by for 2012 and beyond,” Thomas said.

“We are beginning our financial recovery as we build towards our future at Adelaide Oval.

“But to help us do that, we want our supporters to become members and join us at our home games at AAMI Stadium.

“The fantastic thing at Port Adelaide now is the positive energy that has developed during the off-season, even more so around the players and coaches.

“There are some exciting new players in the mix alongside our more experienced talent and the large number of younger players who we have been introducing to AFL. And there all working under a new coaching pnel.

“Most importantly they are all determined to play very competitive football when the games begin. We’ll use every minute we have between now and then to continue working on our improvement.

So why not be a real part of the action and become a Member. It’s the best way to help your team and the club has great value-packed packages still fixed at 2010 prices.

You can get access to all home games for as little as $15 a month.
