Power Off The Pace
Mark Williams says his team's position after 11 rounds is where the Power expected to be

The Power has bounced around in a fairly narrow range between seventh and 11th, but their form has fluctuated wildly.
Port Adelaide has beaten last year's grand finalist St Kilda but has also fallen to a 47-point defeat at the hands of bottom-placed Richmond.
But Williams made the point that the Power had won as many games as Hawthorn, a team sitting in eighth spot after defeating Port Adelaide by 11 points at the MCG.
"Right from the start of the year we said we'd be hopeful to push into the eight," he said.
"At the half-way mark we're about where we thought we might be, but there's been games where other teams would say they should have won against us, and we won; and there's a couple of games now where we've been in front and lost.
"So maybe they all even out and that's about where we should be."
Williams was pleased by his team's endeavour against the Hawks but said that, in the end, the Power simply were not good enough.
"It was a pretty competitive effort from our side - we haven't played very well in the last couple of weeks," he said.
"In the first half we had lots of opportunities - I think it was 12 shots to 14 and we only had two goals. We missed some pretty basic shots, snapshots from the goal-square.
"It made it very difficult for us to dictate too much when it comes to the tactics of the game."
Travis Boak, with 29 touches, 14 contested possessions and 11 tackles, had an impressive game on the stats sheet, but Williams was equivocal about his contribution.
" I thought Boaky was outstanding with lots of stuff he did, but I think he got tackled about five times with the ball as well.
"So it's trying to find that happy mix as to when to give it off and when to break through tackles, and unfortunately that cost us a bit.
"But his work ethic and his efforts were outstanding, and he's just building and building to be a really important player, and a really good player in the AFL."
