Andrew driven to be Moore consistent
On the back of a three-goal performance against Carlton on Sunday, Andrew Moore says he hopes to remain part of Port Adelaide's side for the remainder of the year as he pursues greater consistency in his game.
Having been omitted from the Power’s lineup after the opening match of the season and going back to North Adelaide in the SANFL, Moore said his confidence is building after making his AFL return.
“It was good for me to go back there and to concentrate on the areas I need to improve and to break back into the side is really pleasing,” said Moore.
It was a strong performance for North where Moore won 37 possessions for the match that helped him stake his claim for a recall to the Power.
Club development coaches were extremely happy with the display Moore showed during that match and he was named the club’s SANFL Player of the Week as a result.
Going back to the SANFL has helped in building Moore’s confidence in his own abilities and he brought that belief with him in his return match against Richmond two weeks ago.
Join the club with a three-game membership and see any three of Port Adelaide's remaining seven home games.
While injuries hindered Moore’s early career, he believes he has now put those issues behind him and the drive to play consistent football is something he is motivated to achieve.
He hopes his recent form continues to build as he and the team look towards the Power’s game against Geelong on Saturday.
“I want to continue playing well and it’s a building platform for me.”
“I obviously want to play better every week.”
