portadelaidefc.com.au looks at the three most impactful players in the Pies’ ranks, who could prove dangerous to the Power on Thursday night.

SCOTT PENDLEBURY

With sleek skills and clever movement, the skipper is consistently rated as one of the best midfielders in the competition.

Despite lacking some pace compared to others in the middle, his smarts and agility in traffic is a weapon which could cause some headaches for Port Adelaide.

Pendlebury’s ability to turn first possession into a clearance and win contested balls will put the Power through their paces. Stopping him will go a long way to winning the battle (and, hopefully, the war).

He's ranked number one in the league for disposals, second for first possessions and clearances and third for supercoach points.

TRAVIS CLOKE

At 196cm tall and averaging 2.5 goals per game this season, Cloke is one of the in-form big men of the competition.

Currently sitting in seventh place in the race to the Coleman Medal with 32 goals, he’s booted a massive 13.6 of those over the past month.

Port Adelaide’s back line needs to set about stopping Cloke’s powerful contested mark. The All-Australian is currently the No. 1 marking forward in the competition, with seven marks a game on average.

Alipate Carlile is usually given the task of shutting down the key forward, but with Bobby sidelined this week due to injury, the Power will need to look at other defensive match ups and team support to limit his influence.

DANE SWAN

Pies’ veteran Swan is known for his speed and is damaging when he gets forward of the ball. With an average of 28 disposals per game this season, he racks up possessions inside and outside the stoppage with great burst speed and endurance.

The Brownlow medallist Swan is leading his team in clearances, inside 50s and score involvement, indicating his crucial role in Collingwood’s midfield.

His numbers prove he can impact a game, and no doubt he’ll be hunting a win in his 250th game on Thursday night.
