Meet Brooklyn Fraser, she’s a Year 12 student at Le Fevre High School who has been a member of Empowering Youth – Power Community Ltd’s youth engagement program – for two years.
Now, she’s working eight hours a week with Power Community Ltd while taking on the new challenge of a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation, which will also contribute points towards her SACE.
“Brooklyn impressed us from our the time we first met her in the Empowering Youth program,” says Lisa Kennedy, Power Community Ltd’s Youth Programs Officer.
“She was a really active participant and demonstrated strong leadership potential.
“She then took up the opportunity to complete a week of work experience at the footy club where she attended school visits, assisted the players at training and learned about the media and marketing components of the club.”
Brooklyn was a member of the Port Adelaide Enfield council’s youth advisory committee last year, which is jointly run with the Power.
Her final year of school at Le Fevre will be a busy one, as well as her students and work at Alberton Oval, Brooklyn has also joined Port Adelaide’s female team in the SA Women’s League.
