PORT Adelaide defender Alipate Carlile will not play in Sunday’s Round 12 clash with the Western Bulldogs, after failing to meet the club’s fitness standards.
The 25-year-old full back - who has played in the opening 11 games of the 2012 season - will join his SANFL side South Adelaide against Sturt on Saturday.
The decision not to play Carlile was fully supported by Port Adelaide’s leadership group.

Coach Matthew Primus said Carlile had fallen short of targets he’d been set in the first half of the year.
“As a club, we’ve got very high standards and everyone needs to meet them,” Primus said.
“Bobby has been playing a good role in defence for us this year, but we’ve got high physical expectations and he hasn’t been able to get there.
“We’re all working to improve as a team and a club and we’re working with Alipate to get to where he needs to be.”
Port Adelaide’s team for Sunday’s 4.10pm (SA time) game at Etihad Stadium will be confirmed at 4pm Friday.
