The AFL today confirmed changes to Port Adelaide’s AAMI Community series fixture.

In the revised fixture Port Adelaide will now travel to Perth to play West Coast at Leederville on Sunday 7 March from 4.10pm local time.

Port Adelaide chief executive Matthew Richardson said the club understands the AFL’s decision.

“As a club we understand and accept the AFL’s decision to change the AAMI Community series fixture,” Mr Richardson said.

“The health and safety of all players, coaches, staff and supporters is the absolute priority and it is important to ensure the AFL mitigates any risk related to COVID on the eve of the premiership season. Minimising travel across Australia for all clubs in the pre-season is understandable.

“While it’s disappointing not to host a game in Whyalla this year we look forward to working with the AFL to ensure we can return to Whyalla in 2022.”

The club will provide ticketing details to its match against West Coast in Leederville on March 7 in the coming weeks.

The game will be broadcast live on Fox Footy.
