PORT ADELAIDE vice-captain Ollie Wines has backed up his performance in 2017 to again be the club’s best vote-getter in the 2018 Brownlow Medal count.
Wines polled strongly early in the season but didn’t score a vote after Round 18, finishing with 14 votes, to place 19th overall - 14 votes behind Hawthorn's Tom Mitchell.
In 2017 Wines polled 18 votes and finished ninth - 18 votes behind winner Dustin Martin.
2018 All-Australian Robbie Gray was the next highest-polling Power player, while wingman Jared Polec finished third.
Reliable veteran Justin Westhoff picked up votes early while Sam Gray and Chad Wingard were the club’s equal-fifth.
15 Port Adelaide players accumulated a total of 62 votes.
In 2017, 13 players racked up a total of 84 votes.
