In: Bergman, Marshall, Mayes, Woodcock
Out: Butters, Duursma (injured), Drew, Ladhams (omitted)
PORT ADELAIDE has made four changes at the selection table for Saturday night’s clash with Carlton at the MCG.
Midfielders Zak Butters and Xavier Duursma have each come out of the side after having surgery for respective ankle and knee injuries suffered against Richmond last Friday night, while ruckman/forward Peter Ladhams and midfielder Willem Drew have been omitted.
Todd Marshall returns after being sidelined with an ankle injury for the win over the Tigers, while fellow forward Boyd Woodcock will play his first AFL game of 2021 and first-year defender Miles Bergman has been recalled.
Utility Sam Mayes also joins the starting 22 for the first time in 2021 after being deployed as the medical sub late in the piece against the Tigers.
Next Generation Academy product Martin Frederick has been called into the side for the first time among the emergencies, along with forward Kane Farrell, backman Trent McKenzie and the demoted Drew.
The medical substitute will be named from that group of players an hour prior to Saturday night’s first bounce.
Any emergency not called upon at AFL level will be available to feature for the Magpies in the SANFL on Saturday afternoon.
The game against the Blues at the MCG gets underway at 7:25pm AEST / 6:55pm ACST.
