JAY Schulz and Hamish Hartlett are likely to be named in Port Adelaide's Balfours Showdown XXXIV team to play the Crows on Sunday.

Schulz was substituted from Saturday night's game against the Giants with a groin complaint while Hartlett's game time in the final quarter was reduced due to a back concern.

The club's director of coaching and strategy Alan Richardson told portadelaidefc.com.au on Monday both are almost certain to play on Sunday though.

"We were a bit unsure straight after the game, but once they'd had their medical screening they look as though they'd be fine," said Richardson.

"They still have a bit of training to get through (in the leadup to selection) but we expect them to play."

Brett Ebert has had surgery on an adductor after finishing a game for Port Adelaide's SANFL side with soreness several weeks ago.

It has set back his return to between four and six weeks - Richardson says that the club opted for the creative forward to have surgery to maximise his chances of return at AFL level.

"It's one of those situations where the medicos had to make a call and it (the adductor) just wasn't getting any better," explained Richardson.

"He played a good game for the Maggies in the SANFL trials but pulled up really sore, so it was felt to be the best option for him.

"It's six weeks for him to play, not to train, and he'll be back in our program within about four weeks."

Nick Salter's recovery from a foot injury continues and he is slated for a return to training and football in the next fortnight.

"Nick continues to progress in his recovery and will increase his training loads shortly," said Richardson.

"We're hopeful he will return to match time in the next few weeks."

Brendon Ah Chee will be assessed this week after recovering from a knee injury with a view to returning to Port Adelaide's SANFL side.

Port Adelaide injury list after Round 2
