Port Adelaide and Glenelg in action in Saturday night's ANZAC Round clash.

PORT ADELAIDE has succumbed to Glenelg under lights, going down by 10 points on Saturday night.

The Magpies started with a bang, kicking the first of the game through youngster Dylan Williams.

Glenelg responded through Liam McBean almost 10 minutes later before Taj Schofield nailed one from 50 metres out on a tough angle.

The Tigers then got one back before quarter-time to lead by two points at the first change.

Port started the second quarter in style, with Ben Edwards kicking his first within 30 seconds of the restart.

The Tigers would then get on a run, booting the next three, before Edwards would nail his second with a dribble from the pocket which sent the Magpies fans into raptures.

Edwards’ goal put Port within six points at the main break.

Glenelg would gain the upper hand early in the third with the first three goals of the quarter before Sam Powell-Pepper ended its run.

Despite Matthew Snook’s major for the Tigers, the Magpies came back charging, with goals to Edwards, Cam Wildman and Williams to ensure they trailed by only eight points at the final change.

Port started the last term with a bang, as Kane Farrell launched a massive kick from 55 metres out to close the gap to two points.

Behinds to Pete Ladhams and Matt Appleton ensured the scores were locked away before Luke Partington converted to give the Tigers the lead.

Lachie Hosie would kick back-to-back goals to put the Magpies out of reach late in the game, blowing the margin out to 17 points.

Ruckman Sam Hayes kicked a late goal with a neat set shot to close out the game.

Powell-Pepper starred with 32 touches, eight tackles and eight clearances, while Schofield racked up 21 and Farrell had 20.

The Bob Quinn Medal for best on ground was awarded to Glenelg’s Liam McBean.
