PORT ADELAIDE has reached the mid-season bye so we thought it was a perfect opportunity to reflect on the season so far, focussing on the statistics that matter.

Today we will start with the leaders at the coalface – those who win the most ball.

There is no surprise that midfielders dominate this statistic and Ollie Wines is at the top.

Wines has been having a career-best season, averaging 31.3 disposals per game which ranks him as elite amongst the competition.

He has had a total of 344 disposals in his 11 games, ranking him fourth overall in the AFL behind leader Jack Macrae from the Western Bulldogs, who has had 387 touches.

Macrae averages an astounding 35.2 disposals per game with Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell (33.5) and Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver (32.2) the others ahead of Wines.
