Member Profile: Antony Marciano
Antony Marciano has been going to the footy for 15 years and is looking forward to taking advantage of a held seat at Adelaide Oval after renewing his membership with the club.
How long have you been going to the footy?
For 15 years. I support both the SANFL and AFL.
If you could meet any player who would it be and why?
Dom Cassisi, because everyone thinks we look alike and I often get mistaken for him. Also, I think he is an awesome player - hard-working and tough at the ball.
What are your hopes for the club in 2013?
To be more competitive and challenge for finals. With a new coach and a new captain, I think we are on the right track.
Are you excited to see Travis Boak captain the team this year?
I think Boak is a good choice, he’s young, talented and has good leadership skills. He will inject freshness into the team.
Which player are you most looking forward to seeing develop this year?
Brad Ebert. It’s his second year in, I’m excited to see how he’s improved.
Are you excited for the move to Adelaide Oval?
Yes! It will be a different atmosphere, have more modern features and will be great to have football in the city. I live down the road from AAMI, so although it is less convenient, I think it will improve crowds and be more accessible. You can go out after games!
What is your greatest memory of AAMI Stadium?
Would have to be the Showdown in 2006, where the Crows were top and we were near the bottom, and we came back and beat them.
What do you most enjoy about going to the football?
The atmosphere and the rivalry. Sharing it with the boys. All my mates and cousins are renewing so we can all sit together!
What would you say to people who haven’t yet signed up for 2013?
Hurry up and renew, otherwise you may not be guaranteed a seat at Adelaide Oval.
