No prison bars
No hooped socks.
Just the club’s current ‘V’ guernsey with a white number panel, black shorts and socks.
That’s what fans told portadelaidefc.com.au in the BIG PORT SURVEY, which quizzed supporters on a range of topics including players, the state of the AFL and SANFL competitions, game day and more.
Port Adelaide will wear that uniform against the Crows this weekend, the number-panelled jumper being billed as a special ‘Showdown’ guernsey when the Power plays its cross town rival.
But an overwhelming majority of fans want to see it become the club’s full-time jumper.
Currently Port Adelaide’s home guernsey features an all-black back with a white number.
portadelaidefc.com.au also found that a majority of fans would retain the Power’s current ‘V’ guernsey if they could choose any jumper for the club to wear.

Surprisingly, the club’s traditional black-and-white jumper only had 38% of the vote, while two per 2 percent preferred a different jumper style.
And any moves to bring back old style hooped socks – worn by the club intermittently until the 1960s, were quashed by an overwhelming 90 per cent of fans choosing the black socks used by the club in the AFL and SANFL for more than 50 years.
