PORT ADELAIDE is searching for its fifth successive win when it takes on Woodville-West Torrens today at Woodville Oval.
The Magpies come into the game with some form over the Eagles as well, having beaten them by 10 goals at Alberton Oval earlier this season.
Coach Matthew Lokan said the bye weekend was handy for his players.
“It's always nice to have a week off when you've had a few injuries and guys have been going into games a little bit sore at the midpoint of the year,” he said.
“It's nice to be able to have a week off to freshen up and get ready for the second half of the year.”
Lokan is expecting a tougher contest than the win last time.
“They've got a few guys back into their side which are really important for them. - Jack Hayes and Daniel Menzel - they're pretty important players for them,” he said.
“We've also lost a couple of guys through injury and obviously with the AFL side having to go into quarantine.
“There are a few things that are up against us for this week, but we're really looking forward to the challenge.
“They're a good team, and we need to be able to continue to win, we're in really good form at the moment and it would be nice to go five in a row after four really solid wins.”
Lokan also paid tribute to Jace Bode, who lines up for his 200th SANFL game this week.
“Jace obviously came across to us this year from Norwood and he balances his time with us with duties at Payneham Norwood Union in the amateur league,” he said.
“Jace has been really important for our group in being able to provide a bit of leadership, we don't have a lot of older guys on our contracted list.
“To be able to have him join that group has been really important for us.
“It's been a while since he's played, played for us, but now he's really excited and he's been a fantastic servant of South Australian footy and it's great that he finally gets the opportunity to play his 200th game.”
