PORT ADELAIDE welcomes the Round 16 fixture as announced by the AFL earlier today.
Port Adelaide will travel to Melbourne to take on Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night, July 3.
The game is likely to be Port Adelaide and Hawthorn premiership player Shaun Burgoyne’s 400th AFL appearance.
Starting at 7.40pm local time, the game will be broadcast live and free-to-air nationally on Channel 7.
Port Adelaide chief executive Matthew Richardson said it was another great opportunity for the club.
“We welcome the opportunity to play anyone, anywhere, anytime, but to play a big Victorian club in Melbourne on a Saturday night is a bonus,” Mr Richardson said.
“This marks our sixth national free-to-air game on Channel 7 this season providing invaluable exposure for our entire club and corporate partners.
“And if all goes according to plan, this game will serve as an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful career of Shaun Burgoyne who will become only the fifth player to play 400 VFL/AFL games.”
