XAVIER DUURSMA will make his long-awaited return to football in Port Adelaide’s SANFL clash with Norwood on Saturday.
Duursma has been sidelined since injuring his knee in the club’s AFL win over Richmond in April.
His selection will see him mark his SANFL debut - a nice birthday present for Duursma, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Wednesday.
Zak Butters and Tom Clurey go out of the side which beat Central District at Elizabeth last weekend after being selected in the AFL side, but Riley Bonner returns after being left out of the team to face Melbourne.
Experienced defender Tyson Goldsack has overcome an ankle complaint to take his side in the team.
Martin Frederick, Joel Garner, Peter Ladhams and Boyd Woodcock have been named among the AFL emergencies and will be eligible to feature at SANFL level if not required for the club’s game against the Demons on Thursday night.
In celebration of NAIDOC week, the club will again wear a modified version of its AFL Indigenous guernsey – designed by local artist Elle Campbell – against the Redlegs.
First bounce at Alberton Oval is at 2:35pm on Saturday.
