Port Adelaide will take on the Giants on the Gold Coast for the second encounter in a row.

PORT ADELAIDE will face Greater Western Sydney at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast, it has been announced.

The AFL had been working through where the game would be played this week after it became clear it would not go ahead at Manuka Oval in the ACT as scheduled.

The game will take place on Sunday from 2:40pm ACST / 3:10pm AEST and be broadcast live on Fox Footy or Kayo but delayed on free to air television in South Australia, to be broadcast at 7:00pm ACST on 7Mate.

The AFL and Port Adelaide have each agreed to strict travel arrangements and other protocols as approved by the Queensland Government.

Port Adelaide will fly into the Gold Coast from Melbourne for the match on Sunday via charter flight. After the match, Port Adelaide hopes to return to South Australia and is in ongoing discussions with SA Health about the possibility.

The AFL has also announced that Gold Coast will take on Melbourne at Metricon 24 hours earlier.

AFL EGM Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said he was pleased to be able to confirm the details for these two matches to be played on the Gold Coast in Round 20.

“We thank the four clubs, broadcast partners, and the venue – Metricon Stadium – for their patience as we finalised details for the respective matches to be played on Saturday and Sunday,” Mr Auld said.

“The health and safety of those in our game and the wider community remains paramount and we would like to thank the Queensland Government for their continued support of the 2021 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

“As we continue to navigate the challenges presented by the pandemic, we would like to thank all State and Territory Governments, clubs, players, coaches, umpires, staff, AFLPA, broadcast partners and all the families for their continued patience and support.”
