PORT ADELAIDE fans have voted Aliir Aliir as their MG MVP for Round 21.
In a landslide result, the fans’ opinion reflected the Showdown Medal vote with Aliir claiming both honours for the away derby.
The key defender was the standout performer in Showdown L, saving Port Adelaide countless times when the Crows pushed forward.
Aliir collected 21 disposals for the night at 81% efficiency, took 11 marks – five of which were contested and had an incredible 16 intercepts. He also notched career highs of 17 kicks and ten intercept marks.
Claiming the maximum five votes, Aliir locks his position in the top three on the Fans MG MVP leaderboard.
Young forward Connor Rozee finished runner up in the fan vote.
When the Power needed a spark, Rozee stood up to the occasion, providing the run and carry to get the ball movement back on his side’s terms.
The 21-year old finished the night with 16 disposals, two clearances and a goal assist.
Rounding out the votes this week were Willem Drew (3rd), Zak Butters (4th) and Ollie Wines (5th).
This week Port Adelaide will prepare to host Carlton in front of a home crowd at Adelaide Oval for the first time since Round 17. The date and time of the match is yet to be confirmed by the AFL.
