The son of inaugural Port Adelaide AFL best and fairest winner and three-time Magpies premiership player Darren Mead, Jackson Mead was Port Adelaide's second ever father-son selection after Brett Ebert (son of Russell) in 2002. While his father was a towering tall defender, the younger Mead is a fierce midfielder/forward known for courage and attack on the football.
Mead made his highly-anticipated debut in Round 1, 2022. After being in and out of the side in 2022 and 2023, Mead enjoyed a breakout year in 2024 – playing all of Port Adelaide’s 26 games and finding a spot for himself in a competitive Port Adelaide midfield. He will carry this momentum into 2025, with all signs pointing to another prosperous year.

We also acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of Australia and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living people today.
