Speedy defender Logan Evans was selected by Port Adelaide with pick 12 in the 2024 mid-season rookie draft. The 18-year-old was connected to Port Adelaide through the SANFL Rookie Program, which allowed him to train with the AFL side and benefit from the experience of an elite sporting environment. He caught the eye of Port Adelaide recruiters with his ability to read the ball and compete aerially, as well as his clean hands and smart ball use.
Evans made his AFL debut shortly after his mid-season selection, making his first senior appearance against Brisbane in 2024 where he recorded 20 disposals and 424 metres gained. He went on to play every remaining game in Port Adelaide’s 2024 campaign and quickly solidified himself as a mainstay in the backline. His impressive debut year was capped off with a Rising Star nomination in Round 24.
Having announced himself as one of Port Adelaide’s most promising young stars, Evans will continue to develop his game – putting no limit on what he can achieve.
