Exciting midfielder/forward Caitlin Wendland found at home at Port Adelaide ahead of the 2024 AFLW season. Signing on as an injury replacement player, Wendland already boasts experience in two AFLW programs, having spent a period as a train on player with Port Adelaide in 2023 before being recruited by eventual premier Brisbane as a replacement player.
Hailing from Central District, the hard-tackling left footer was a key part of the Bulldogs’ premiership-winning side – racking up 21 disposals and three clearances in the Grand Final. An eye-catching season also saw her named in the 2023 SANFLW Team of the Year.
The 19-year-old already holds the skills and valuable experience necessary to make her case for a spot in the side. Her strength in the contest, coupled with exceptional ball use, puts her in good stead in her first season in Port Adelaide colours.
