Widely hailed as one of Australia’s best athletes and the AFLW’s most decorated player, Erin Phillips joins Port Adelaide as the club’s inaugural AFLW signing. Prior to her footballing career Phillips played nine seasons in the WNBA – winning two championships and an Olympic silver medal for the Opals in that time. She returned to Australia and made the switch to football, joining the Adelaide Crows where she enjoyed an incredibly successful stint at the club that included three premierships and two league best and fairest titles.
Phillips was named Port Adelaide’s inaugural AFLW captain owing to her strong leadership on and off the field. The highly skilled midfielder/forward is one of the most experienced players in the AFLW, well known for her accuracy and goal sense. Announcing her retirement at the conclusion of the 2023 season, Phillips finishes her career as the most decorated player in the AFLW.
