Defender Maddy Keryk landed at Alberton in a trade with Geelong ahead of the 2023 AFLW season. Playing more than 50 games with Carlton, Geelong and the Power, Keryk has been in the AFLW system since day one and is a proven leader, serving as one of Carlton’s inaugural co-vice-captains in 2017 and as part of Geelong’s leadership group for two of her five years at the club.
A versatile and experienced operator, the 28-year-old primarily played a lockdown defender role in her time at the Cats, however has shown her ability to exert damage in front of goal with her games with Port Adelaide. Keryk’s skill and knowledge of the game is set to complement the Power's talented young group, with the defender proven to work well alongside the club’s fellow high-quality leaders.
At the conclusion of the 2024 season, Keryk announced her retirement, bringing an end to her 56-game career.
